Legal System

Aztecs legal system was complex to design respect for the government to maintain the aztecs. The laws were based passed down from generations and were run by the aztecs judges.

Criminal Law

If someone were to commit a crime they would get punished. And those punishments were severe. Depending on the crime some punishments were slavery, loss of office, and losing there head. For the crime to extend on to the persons family the crime would have to either be thefy or violation of chastity. However, there were lots of people who did not follow their punishment and were put to the death bed.

Family Law

Family law was followed by familes. These laws contained when the men and women were aloud to get married and what each parent was responsible for doing for their children. Men were only aloud to get married from ages 20-22. However, women were aloud to marry at ages 15-18. Parents were expected tp punish there kids physically. The parents were aloud to make the child inhale chili smoke which is very painful.
